Rick Greenwald has been active in the world of computer software for more than two decades, including stints with Data General, Cognos, Gupta, Salesforce, and Oracle. He is currently a director of Database Cloud Initiatives in the Application Express development organization at Oracle Corporation. He has been a principal author of nineteen books and countless articles on a variety of technical topics, and has spoken at conferences and training sessions across six continents. Rick's books include the recent Achieving Extreme Performance with Oracle Exadata (Oracle Press, 2011), Beginning Oracle Application Express (WROX, 2009), four editions of the best-selling Oracle Essentials (O'Reilly Media, Inc., 2001), and Professional Oracle Programming (WROX, 2005), among others.
